Aid Necessities Transporter (A.N.T.) Part 3

8 January 2010, 06:11 , by Bryan Lee

Wheels and suspension
The wheels and suspension on the A.N.T is a vital part of the design. Being individually powered, this allows the vehicle to travel on all terrain as well raising or lowering itself if needed. In addition, the ability to lower and raise the vehicle also plays a vital role in loading and unloading the supply unit.

Loading and Unloading
Loading and unloading of the supply unit is an easy and efficient procedure due to the unique suspension of the A.N.T. Whilst in rapid mode, the vehicle simply lines itself in front of the supply unit. From here, the vehicle will lower itself whilst rotating the head piece. Guided by electronics, the vehicle will then reverse into the supply unit. Once connected, the vehicle simply lifts up and drives off.

Seating, Ingress and Egress
Since the A.N.T will be travelling in groups, it will only need to accommodate for the driver. Inside, devices such as the steering wheel will be connected to the seat. This is because as the headpiece rotates, the seat will also adjust and rotate allowing the driver to be seated upright.

Depending on the mode the vehicle is in, the driver will be entering or exiting at different positions. In rapid mode, the vehicle will lower itself close to the ground. The glass piece will split into two whist the seat will adjust itself into entry/exit position. From then the driver can easily step in or out. In transport mode, the vehicle will kneel drown close to the floor. Again, the glass piece will split into two whilst the seat will lower itself closer to the ground. From here, the driver will be entering and exiting from the front.

In Shot

In my next article, i will be showing pictures of my model at my graduation exhibition. There will also be an animation showing the functions of my vehicle.

Thanks!

Peranan Pendamping Peacekeepers
