Animation
The following is an animation showing the A.N.T.‘s function and movement. Enjoy!
Model
After the design was completed, we were required to build a physical model. Milled out ABS was used for the main sections of the vehicle, and the tyres were press molded rubber. For the more detailed parts such as the rims, Objet Rapid Prototyping was used.
After approximately 3 weeks, the 600mm long model was built.
The painting was then done locally at a car paint garage and car paint was used.
Finally, for ease of transportation and flexibility of posing the vehicle, i used magnets to connect each arm, allowing me to raise and lower the vehicle at my own will. More importantly, this allowed me to easily disassemble my vehicle.
Lastly, i decided to rapid prototype the smaller models to show my vehicle in all modes.
Thank you so much for allowing me to introduce you to my design. I hope you enjoyed reading through my articles. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to comment or email me directly.
I am currently looking for work and i will gladly take any opportunity in the design field.
Thank you once again!
