From Afghanistan with love..

Safi began his UN career when he joined the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan, the UN peacekeeping mission after the US-led coalition forces toppled the ruling regime of Taliban. Life is still a big challenge back home and it has been important for me to continue my development of career elsewhere as circumstances back home would not permit me to excel further.

Having been working in such large organization with global operations like the in United Nations – Peacekeeping Operations, having close colleagues that sits right next to your office cubicle whose coming from thousands of miles away from you own village would be just about normal.

One among many great friends I’ve met while on mission assignment is this fine, fearless fellow, namely Safiullah Marajuddin. Guys, meet one of my good friend, Safi.. that’s how we call him.

It has been almost 3 years to have known Safi, and from time to time, through his story of his hometown in Kabul, Afghanistan and listening to how it was and how it is now back there.. all is like being there myself.

Luigi, you said it all... Safi is a great guy with lots of potential. Anytime we have a problem with our computer or Finance issues, Safi is always there for the solutions. He is a positive person with positive attitude and a great personality. We are so happy to have him around and most important working for the UN. What a great asset!.

Indeed Safi is a remarkable person that I am happy to have met and have as a friend .. it didn't take me mintues from the second I met with Safi in our Finance Department, to realize that he is a talented, smart and mostly a very friendly and warm harted person .. we became good friends from that moment.

Safi, I just heard that you started your online studies .. that's great, wish you all the best dear brother and good luck.

.......It is great and I am very happy hearing and reading something about my colleague and very close friend who had begun his career here from UNAMA and rapidly developed to the Liberia Mission in order to take part helping valnurable peoples with the other international and national colleagues in Liabria. It is worth to say that ( Safi Jan ) is a very hardworking, honest and motivated person and always tries to achieve his goals. Any how wish him to be more and more successful and make up with all other life challenges in the futures.

Hi Luigi, lucky you far away there have a nice friend like Safi. Being in another country, tough life, far from family... good friends mean so much to us, kan? I often amaze and thankful to know many good friends with different background & culture, with their own dreams and wishes, and dedicated to what they are doing - become inspiration for us. Salam deh buat Safi ^ ^

Safi is one of my favorite people here! Always helpful, curteous, humble and polite, with a friendly attitude and nice smile on his face...it would be impossible not to like him! Liberia made him turn a few hairs gray though! Or it is the UNMIL wisdom? Hahah!
Is he the youngest UN Volunteer in Liberia?
Congratulations on your enrollment in University!

I met Safi last two years ago at UNV Transit House, Monrovia.
I do not know much about him but he's friendly and he is a nicest person I have ever met in my life. I still remember, when he was first time arrived in Monrovia, I was trying to help to find apartment for him.... and then he was decided to stay there....and since then ,...........

Cheers mate

Safi is not easy to explain here in words. If you want to see him, you should live with him as I did. I shared a room with him for one year, but it is not as a room mate if I say roommate I can not explain his brotherhood, not only his being a best friends of mine.
Safi is a man, he is a great man, he is a great brother. He really is such a person that he tries people to be happy around of him, even if he is not so happy. Now he started to study for his degree online, and I believe that he will succeed this as his usual job, with a lot effort.
As I mentioned above it is not easy explain about him here, I just tried to show just one side of him. Safi Can I will really miss you, I will hope to see you again in the following years, as you know I'm leaving my mission.
Brother, my little brother salam to you and your family.
