Life in Liberia is not always a bed of pink rose petals

I think it is important first to pay attention at how the other person shows their love for you. If he/she is always suggesting you go for a trip together, or go for a walk, or turn off the television and talk, her love language is probably quality time.

We swing sometimes between work stress to traffic jam and relationship challenges. I don’t always understand the love language of my current relationship. We met since I came to UNMIL, I love him, and he is a great guy.

What about me? I am raised to be modest, I won’t say anything, and forgiven be my modesty.

It is far away my intention to talk in metaphors in this blog, but I could say that I lately realized that the way that what makes one partner feel loved may not necessarily be the same thing that makes the other one feel loved.

Maybe the language of love does not necessarily consist of the words “I love you”. Have you ever wondered? Actually, “I love you” has become quite a common expression in many instances in today’s world, and many people say it with enough easiness for it to lose that special effect or emotion. The way we communicate our love and affection is different to an extent for all people. We all have our own perception of love. This could be expressed not only through words, but also through physical touch, words of affirmation, certain actions, quality time or special gifts.

wow!! A new site! This is so cool! Keep up the good work :)
Well, love has many forms. I agree with you that it can be expressed in many ways other than saying 'I love you'. Every little care and little sweet things will always be counted.

Love does not see the place, the conditions or the physical things :) I hope your love will be eternal.
God bless!

Hi Marilena, I completely agree with you. Love is about showing how we care about other people, and also to understand them and giving the compromise. It also happened to myself, to the fact that I have a partner from a totally different cultural background from mine. A compromise, at first, is not easy to do. But when we understand how much it means to the relationship, then you'll do it with all your heart. Bravo, Marilena! Looking forward to read you next posting!
