Arny Wahyuni
Born in Semarang, on 4 may 1978, married with 1 child, Arny Wahyuni has been currently serving under Mission L’ONU en RD Congo (MONUC), the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Graduated as nutritionist and further concluded her advanced studies in Food Technology at Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata in Semarang. Arny began her mission assignment on 7 November 2008 assuming the responsibility as Food Inspector, to conduct assesment on quality inspection towards supplied rations allocated for the military contingents. This role has given her the opportunity to roam around the larger-part of DR Congo (DRC). The country has been quite an expose to herself, as prior undertaking the assignment, Arny has been living in the DRC over 4 years, accompanying the spouse whose working at a private company operating in the DRC. The larger part of the country has been felt like a second home to her. Outside work, she is also an active member of UN-OV (United Nations Online Volunteer) under the umbrella of SCN (Seattle Community Network) playing the role as Indonesian translator since 2007. Arny will further share her stories from the DRC.

Sekilas sepak-terjangku di Goma, DRC
Makanan tersebut diajukan permintaan pengiriman-nya oleh setiap kontingen militer PBB/MONUSCO berdasarkan menu dan kalori (maksimal 4500 Kal) serta budget. Jadi setiap kontingen harus membuat menu untuk makan pagi, siang dan malam untuk 7 hari berdasarkan jumlah kekuatan militer mereka. Setiap 7 hari, menu tersebut akan berganti atau diputar. Makanan yang masih berada ditangan kontraktor bukan merupakan property PBB, setelah ada handover melalui Rations Delivery ini, barulah makanan tersebut menjadi property PBB yang tidak boleh diperjual belikan atau disumbangkan kepada pihak lain.

My assignment in Congo
Many people see Congo as a danger place and many negative points, “The heart of darkness” as Joseph Conrad called Congo, with it brutality and violence. Contrary, in my 5th years I spent in Congo, I still get surprised with the beauty of this land. In fact, I fell in Love with Congo since first time I landed to this country on 30th December 2005. My duty as a Food Inspector brings me around the Congo, and I found each place of Congo has it own beauty and it attracts me to know more about Congo.
