Juferdy, since his appointment as Community Service under the The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) in 2005 based in Aceh, has been extensively liaising with local Non – Governmental Organization (NGOs), community leaders and local authorities on matters relating to sheltering and permanent housing programme towards the Aceh tsunami relief effort. He travelled into various remote areas to find villages and conduct the programme. Equipped with the field experience, he then continued to several other projects in collaboration with UNICEF that focused on public health. In July 2007, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) had contracted Juferdy to play a role as facilitator in their project in temporary living center decommissioning solution that further provide assessment and gathering data on temporary settlement project in Banda Aceh.
With all humanitarian mission exposures he has been banking on, this has landed him to a new frontier. Presently undertaking new appointment under the United Nations’ – World Food Programme (WFP) and taking office in Kupang – Atambua, Nusa Tenggara Timur (East Nusa Tenggara), Indonesia’s province bordering the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, focusing more on assisting local nutrition centers/pediatrics health centers and schools in implementing assistance on nutrition monitoring program through various empowerment programmes aimed at the beneficiaries. Supporting the farming improvement project on several villages within his jurisdiction, to include seeding assistance, construction of mini earth-reservoir and many more. Having been an alumna of University of Indonesia since 2003, Juferdy is a great enthusiast in photography and traveling and he will be sharing more stories and photos of his journey in East Nusa Tenggara.
