Andi Perdana Kahar
Born on February 1971, LT Col Andi Perdana Kahar devoted himself to the country of Indonesia through military carrier. Therefore, after graduating from the high school in 1989, he attended the Indonesian Military Academy for 3 years of education. Following his graduation in 1992, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. He started his initial tour of duty at the 327 Infantry Battalion as a Platoon Leader. For almost 8 years of his assignment, he held various positions, including Platoon Leader, Company Commander and Operations Staff Officer. In 2000, after graduating from the Advance Course, he held the following positions: Deputy Commander of the Combat Training and Education at the VII Area Military Command, Deputy Commander of 721 Infantry Battalion, Junior Officer for Operations Staff at the VII Area Military Command, Deputy Commander of 700 Infantry Battalion/Raiders and Chief of Staff of the 1408 District Military Command. Following his graduation of the Indonesian Army Command and Staff College in 2007, he held two positions, as Commander of Advance Course Unit at the Infantry Training Center and Commander of the 323 Infantry Battalion/Raiders.
During his military carrier, he had been through some domestic military operations, as follow: Operations in East Timor (1995), Operations in Aceh and Papua (1999), Security Operations at the Indonesian-East Timor Border Line (2003) and Operations in Aceh (2004). For almost 18 years of his carrier, he had been awarded with the following military medals: Seroja Medal for East Timor Operations, Raksaka Dharma Medal for Papua Operations, Dharma Nusa Medal for Aceh Operations and 8 years Loyalty Medal. LT Col Andi Perdana Kahar is married with two children.
Lieutenant Colonel Andi Perdana Kahar, currently is the commanding officer of Indobat, Indonesia’s Garuda Contingent XXIII-D serving under the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The contingent is based in Adshit Al Qusayr in Southern Lebanon.
