Wahyu Nugroho


A true adventurer by interest. Love to explore nature by trekking, among sports as hobby. He also enjoys reading, writing, and learning all about computer & technology. Lieutenant Police Wahyu Nugroho was born in Boyolali, a small city in Central Java in 1982. Having been growing-up and spent much of his childhood in Boyolali, then graduated from Taruna Nusantara High School in 2000. Being a graduate of such prestigious & one of nation’s exemplary high school, he banked on his decision to join andget drafted into Indonesia’s Police Academy. Upon undertaking his initial assignment, he was then assigned to Metro Jaya Regional Police. Apart from his appointment in the city, he also successfully accomplished his field mission in the province of Aceh post-tsunami for the period of 8 months in 2004 as Chief of Investigation Unit under coordination of National Police HQ. further to his career, in 2006, assumed a new assignment at the National Police Academy as a Cadet Platoon Commander. With the extensive tour of duty, has landed him to his initial international assignment, embarked to strengthen the first Indonesia’s Formed Police Unit (FPU) battalion under Garuda Bhayangkara Contingent to the Darfur Region in Sudan, under the mandate of the United Nations Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID). Lieutenant Police Wahyu Nugroho will be sharing more stories during his assignment in the Darfur region and upon conclusion of his assignment hopes to welcome the next UN assignment.

Bismo Teguh Prakoso


Police Captain Bismo Teguh Prakoso was born in East Java, Indonesia in 1980. After completion of his formal education of high school at SMU Taruna Nusantara, Magelang in 1998, he joined Indonesian Police Academy as a cadet. In the year of 2001, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in Indonesian National Police. Since then, he further assumed duty as Chief of CID Unit in Surabaya City Sector Police. Further to the completion of Bachelor degree in Law in 2005, majoring Police Science at PTIK (Indonesian National Police College) and followed by a master degree in business law also completed in 2007. The next assignment was as money laundering investigator at Criminal Investigation Department of Indonesian National Police HQ Jakarta. Several overseas courses were concluded, held in Singapore Police Force in 2007 on Community Policing and Thailand specializing in Cyber Crime/Computer Forensics at International Law Enforcement Academy in 2008. His international appointment at multilateral forum began when he joined UNMIS (United Nations Mission in Sudan) commenced in November 2008 until November 2009 as Police Advisor. During his deployment to Sudan under the United Nations, he undertakes dynamic roles/functions and responsibilities, to name a few as Co-locator, Trainer, Personnel Officer, Logistic Officer, Community Policing Coordinator, Investigator in Special Investigation Unit, Gender Child Vulnerable People Protection Coordinator. Police Captain Bismo Teguh Prakoso will further share his stories from Sudan.

Arief Bastian Sanusi


Arief Bastian Sanusi, 1st Lieutenant Marine Corps, was born in December 1983 in Pangkalan Susu, North Sumatera. After conclusion of formal education at SMUN 1 Padang in 2001, He drafted hiimself at the Indonesian Naval Academy and later became the graduate of Indonesia’s Marine Corps Officer in 2004. 1st Leutenant Arief Bastian Sanusi gained various training and tactical qualification courses, to include: Merits in Rifle Shooting in 2002, Scuba Diver in 2003, Marines Commando in 2003, Pistol Shooting in 2005, Parachute in 2005, and Navy Strait Swimmer in 2005. Having been assuming for several posts, initially as the commander of 2nd Platoon under D company of 4th Marines Infantry Battalyon in 2005, commander of 1st Platoon under D company in 2006 and Commanding officer of Mortar Platoon in 2007. He pays more interests in music and reading. His initial overseas assignment began since June 2007 in RIMPAC Join Traning, Hawaii, USA. 1st Leutenant Arief Bastian Sanusi is presently acting his role as 2nd Platoon Commander of Charlie Company in INDOBATT Garuda Contingent XXIII-C serving under UNIFIL in Lebanon.

Agus Mewal


Agus Mewal is nothing new to the United Nations System and in Humanitarian Relief Mission. Born in 18 August 1970, concluded his study in linguistics in 1990 at STIBA-LPI and UUS in 1994 further chose his career in Air Operations with UNHAS (United Nations Humanitarian Air Service) during the Trunami Relief Mission fom january 2005 till November 2006 based in Western Aceh, also serving Nias and its surrounding affected areas. As UNHAS was under the umbrella of operations of UN-WFP (World Food Programme), played the role of Air Movement Assistant. With closure of the tsunami relief mission, further Agus embarked to his new career at the commercial airlines’ industry from 1993 till mid 2009. Being proficient with cargo management & operations, his profile has been deemed attractive and landed him to new frontier since 21 July 2009 under the umbrella of UNAMID (United Nations Hybrid Mission in Darfur), based in Khartoum, Sudan. Agus will be sharing further on his days during assignment from Sudan.

Endang Satriyani


Endang Satriyani, or known as Eno, has recently joined the UN mission in September 2007, having been assigned in Haiti, under MINUSTAH as UNV Finance Advisor, of which her main duty is working together with Haitian Nationale Police (HNP) for the reform plan. Though this would be her first mission assignment with UN Mission, Post-conflict assignments or having been deployed to disaster area is nothing new. Previously, Eno has been assigned under several International NGO, with the same role of Finance Officer, namely with Merlin Indonesia in Banda Aceh and Save the Children in Atambua. An accountant by academic, also admire outdoor sports, like hiking and enjoy traveling, to include cross-coutry to villages/interior. Love to try new things, like becoming a jumper as few years back and has joined FASI in Indonesia as paraglider team. That would be considered as her new hobby. This point forward, Eno will be sharing his days during assignment directly from Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Aisyah


Aisyah was born and grown up in Medan, Indonesia. Grown up as a country girl with strong Medan accent, which sometimes confuse people from Indonesia about her Indonesian language. She didn’t imagine that she would travel to leave her country for Africa on her assignment. With initial hands-on experience as Project Secretary for construction company, she began further contending challenges and going into adventures to know more and obtain further experiences in humanitarian relief missions. As destiny brought her further, landed her an opportunity to join other big names of organization in humanitarian relief Organization, namely; IMC (International Medical Corps), IOM (International Organization for Migration), USAID – LGSP (United States Agency for International Development – Local Governance Support Programe), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), SCCF (Secours Catholique/Caritas France). Armed with extensive exposure and abundant experiences, has made her profile attractive and got herself an international assignment at UNMIL (United Nations Mission in Liberia). A diligent team player, and a sense of workaholic as her bad habit during closing deadlines. Apart from work, Aisyah enjoys traveling, creative in culinary experiment and of course enjoy very much in shopping. Aisyah will be sharing further from Liberia during her assignment.

Edwin Habel


Major Edwin Habel is currently serving as United Nations’ Military Observer for MONUC – UN Mission in DRC. Born 36 years ago and spent all of his Childhood in City of Makassar as so the school time. Joined Indonesia Military Academy on 1992 and graduated 3 years after as a Field Artillery Junior Officer. He gained vast experience during service at The Field Artillery Unit and in HQ on both Command and Field Staff, however, the Operation and Training affairs are his favorite subjects. As “The man behind the gun”, he definitely has passed through numerous of Military Courses relating to Field Artillery Branch within and outside the country. This has provided him with expertise under several Military Joint Exercises and Operations. Subsequently, prior deployment to D.R. Congo, major Edwin Habel currently is undertaking the final semester of Bureaucracy Administration Degree and focusing on Human Resource Management, a major that would considerably pose further boost to future career. Since the early 2008, he was sucessfully enslited at the Indonesian Peacekeeper, in his pursuit of broadening the horizon from the recent MILOBS Course, CIMIC Course, Command and Staff Operation Law Course and Peace Support Operation Instructor Course which have had participatced in Jakarta and Australia. The Holder of Diploma Grade from FA School Fortsill, USA enjoys much traveling, making friends, correspondence and a fast learning on something new to develop his knowledge and experience. He has a great interest to Photography and Art as well. The Father of “3 Win Family” believes that the life is precious if he always does something good for his surrounding therefore Kindly would be ready for sharing his further stories from the hinterland of Africa and wherever after.

Destianto Nugroho Utomo


Major Destianto Nugroho Utomo was born in East Java, Indonesia. After finished formal education at Taruna Nusantara High School Magelang in 1993, he joined the Indonesian Air Force Academy and graduated in 1996. Then in 1998, he graduated from the 56th Indonesian Military Pilot School in Adi sutjipto Air Force Base Yogyakarta . Since then, he was posted as a Military Transport Pilot in Halim Air Force Base Jakarta in 2nd Squadron where he flew with the CN-235 Military Version, an airplane which is manufactured in PT Dirgantara Indonesia. As a Military Transport Pilot, he had landed at most of Indonesian Air field and several neighboring countries. He is interested in music and movies, and also reading some inspiring books. He graduated from the 58th Indonesian Air Force Instructor Flying School , then becoming a Pilot Instructor in Wing of Flight Training, Adisutjipto Air Force Base Yogyakarta. Before he served as Staff Officer in Air Operations UNAMID, Darfur, Sudan, he had been moved to the 1st Wing Halim Perdanakusuma Airforce Base Jakarta.

Sabtu sore dilanjutkan dengan mengunjungi teman – teman TNI yang baru pindah rumah, sampe berpesiar ke Sungai Congo di Minggu pagi. Nah, yang terakhir ini yang paling seru.
