Leo SUGANDI
Leo Sugandi graduated from Norwich University (Military College of
Vermont) with bachelor degrees in political science and history. An
infantry man after commissioned into the Indonesian Army in 2001.
Currently serving as Public Information Officer of the Indonesian
Engineering Company under MONUC (UN mission in DR Congo) since October
2008.
Leo will be sharing more stories from the regions through out the D. R. Congo.
Hagus INDARYANTO
Major Hagus Indaryanto,SH was born in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia in 1973. Graduated from high school in 1992, then joined the Indonesian Military Academy as Cadet. In the year of 1995 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Indonesian Army then started his military career as an Air Defense Artillery officer. Further to the completion of Air Defense Officer Basic Training in 1996, his next assignment was as Platoon Commander in 1996 at 14th Air Defense Artillery Battalion, 3th Military Area Command, West Java then continued to serve at Intelligent Detachment in 3th Military Area Command until 2004.
Further to his Air Defense Artillery Advance Course in 2004, he undertook an appointment as recruiting officer at Intelligent Staff, 3th Military Area Command that later lands him In 2007, a new appointment as Vice Battalion Commander at 3th Light Air Defense Artillery Battalion to present. Major Hagus Indaryanto’s international assigment started on 13th October 2008 and to present, assigned to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Congo (MONUC) as Military Observer. Initially depolyed at 101th Team Site of Kinshasa as a Team Member and further reassigned to the 102nd Team Site of Western Brigade. Major Hagus Indaryanto will share his updates and stories from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Hari MULYANTO
Lieutenant Colonel Mulyanto was born in Nganjuk, East Java, Indonesia in 1969. After he finished his formal education of high school in 1987, he joined the Indonesian Military Academy as Cadet. In the year of 1991 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Indonesian Army. Since then he is an Air Defense Artillery officer.
Further to the completion of Air Defense Officer Basic Training in 1992, his next assignment was as Platoon Commander in 1992 at 15th Light Air Defense Artillery Battalion, 4th Military Area Command, Central Java then continued to serve at the same battalion until 1996 as Battery Commander and shortly after assigned to the Indonesian Army Air Defense Artillery Training Center in Malang, East Java. In 2000, concluded his Air Defense Artillery Advanced School that later on landed him to the next assignment as Staff Officer for Social Communication Staff at the Indonesia National Armed Forces Headquarters.
Completed his Indonesian Army Command and Staff College in 2007, he took an appointment as Chief of Data Collection Sub Directorate, the Indonesia National Armed Forces Information Center.
Several overseas assignments were in Australia and Nepal. Prior to current UNIFIL assignment, he had successfully served UN peacekeeping mission in Congo as Military Observer under MONUC (United Nations Mission in Congo). One of his best interest is Scuba Diver qualified.
Lieutenant Colonel Mulyanto is presently playing his role as Public Information Officer (PIO) of INDOBATT Garuda Contingent XXIII-C under UNIFIL in Lebanon.
Muhammad Soleh
Presently holding a first Lieutenant from Indonesia’s Air Force, Muhammad Soleh is now serving Garuda Contingent XXV-A, Indonesia’s Military Police Contingent (INDO-MP) under United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) since November 2008 as Contingent’s Public Information Officer. A traveling enthusiast and enjoys photography as well as water sports. Assigned an office at Sector East Military Police Unit (SEMPU) in Blat 7-3 Marjayoun, Lebanon. Concluded his tenure as MPIO of Garuda XXV-A in 12 December 2009, returned to Indonesia assuming other duties at Indonesian Army.
Deden LUKMAN
Graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1996. Initial service within the IAF begun Central Command Comms in Abdurrahman Sallah Air Force Base, Malang – Eastern Java. Following another assignment at Hassanudin Air Force Base, Makassar for 2,5 years. His extensive career exposure involves maintenance and troubleshooting of IAF comms assets which later succeeds him as Chief Section of Operations at Iskandar Air Force Base in Central Kalimantan.
With extensive trainings and skills development within the IAF, have landed him an opportunity to further gain international assignment as United Nations Military Observer (UNMO) in Liberia under UNMIL. Deden Lukman will further share his updates from West Africa.
James Maramis
James Maramis spent his first 15 years in Papua, formerly known as IrianJaya, Indonesia. Completed his Bachelor of Nursing Science from Indonesia Adventist University (UNAI) Bandung on 17 August 2003.
After 3 years serving under International SOS (ISOS) Freeport Tembagapura as a Paramedic in the hospital and several clinics at the mining sites, he then decided to pursue his passion to serve in humanitarian organization by joining the UN Volunteers, under the flag of UNDP, he then continued in volunteerism. His initial mission was based in Nepal under the mandate of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) as a Medical Nurse. Stationed in Pokhara, West Region.
Further to his endeavour, upon concluding his contract under UNMIN, his expertise and hands-on experiences were picked up by DynCorp International. Starting from Oct 2008 till present, serving as a Paramedic for DynCorp International, Afghanistan Civilian Advisor Support (ACAS) Program in Kabul, Afghanistan.
James Maramis is married to a beautiful ladyfrom Tanah Toraja. Apart from daily duties, James loves reading books, ebooks, and sometimes trying to crash his own laptop James will further share more updates and stories from Afghanistan.
Hondor SARAGIH
Hondor SARAGIH, has been serving the Indonesian NAVY since 2000. Hondor began his peacekeeping mission assignment with MONUC, The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as CPIO (Contingent’s Public Information Officer) at the Indonesian Engineering Company (Indoengcoy) under Kontingen Garuda XX-C from August 2005 to September 2006. With vast field experiences, he is then entrusted to take-up a new assignment and deplyed to UNIFIL with same role for the Indonesian Force Headquarters Support Unit (FHQSU) Kontingen Garuda XXVI-A, in Lebanon for the period of December 2008 to November 2009.
Hondor shares a great interest in photography, writings and indeed a travel enthusiast. He will be sharing his past and current stories while serving for peace.
Hilman Agung
Born and spent most of his education in Bandung. His bachelor was in environmental engineering then he continued to pursue his master degree in Delft, the Netherlands, from 2004 to 2006. Starting his career at a water company in Jakarta. He started to roam around various places after joining an INGO focusing in water and sanitation. Currently, he is based in Monrovia with a medical NGO responsible for logistics related activities. Hobby: a bit of this and that including reading, cooking, and writing.
